การเปรียบเทียบมี 3 ระดับคือ
• ขั้นธรรมดา Positive Degree
• ขั้นกว่า Comparative Degree
• ขั้นสูงสุด Superlative Degree
ขั้นธรรมดา เป็นการเปรียบเทียบความเท่าเทียมกันมีรูปประโยคดังนี้As + adjectives + as• Apple is as delicious as pineapple.
• Mrs. Pisamai is as beautiful as Mrs. Supatra.
• Mr.Puang is as tall as Mr.Daeng.
ประโยคในข้อใดเป็นการเปรียบเทียบเท่ากัน
• John is tall.
• Johe is as tall as Jim.
• John is taller than Jim.
• John is the tallest.
ประโยคในข้อใดถูกต้อง

คำคุณศัพท์ (Adjectives) เติม er + than more + คำคุณศัพท์ (Adjective) + thanMath is more difficult than English.

กฎการเปลี่ยนคำคุณศัพท์ ให้อยู่ในรูป Comparative และ Superlative Degree
1. Adjective ที่เป้นคำพยางเดียว ให้เติม –er ในขั้นกว่า และเติม –est ในขั้นสูงสุด
2. Adjective ที่เป็นคำพยางเดียว มีสระตัวเดียว ให้เพิ่มพยัญชนะตัวท้ายอีกหนึ่งตัว แล้วจึงเติม –er ในขั้นกว่า และเติม –est ในขั้นสูงสุด เช่น
3. คำที่ลงท้ายด้วย e อยู่แล้วให้เติมเฉพาะ –r และ –st เช่น
4. คำที่ลงท้ายด้วย y ให้เปลี่ยนเป็น I แล้วเติม –er และเติม –est ในขั้นที่สุด
5. คำคุณศัพท์ที่มีหลายพยางค์ให้เติม more ในขั้นกว่าและเติม most ในขั้นที่สุด
